Forgiveness is <i>all about me<\/i>. It is about me letting go of my resentment. It doesn&#8217;t matter what happened, who did it or how terrible it was. The key word is <i>&#8216;me&#8217;<\/i>.\u00a0 I am the only one who can let go of my resentment. Forgiveness is absolutely, totally and completely an inside job.<\/p>\n<p>2. In like manner, forgiveness has <i>NOTHING<\/i> to do with the other person. In fact, there is a good chance that other person doesn&#8217;t even know he needs forgiving. And it doesn&#8217;t matter anyway because eventually we&#8217;re going to bypass that other person completely.<\/p>\n<p>3. Consequently, forgiveness is not something you bestow on someone, or something they earn or deserve. Forgiveness is\u00a0<i>entirely<\/i> a state of mind. It is a <i>change in perception<\/i> from powerlessness to empowerment, from separation to connection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1. Forgiveness is all about me.
