This is the hero, the &#8216;good guy&#8217; of the story; the person around which &#8216;The Conflict&#8217; arises, &#8216;The Climactic Moment&#8217; encompasses and who comes out smelling like a rose at &#8216;The Resolution&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>In your <em>Forgiveness Story<\/em> you will create a Protagonist who thinks like you, acts like you, has all the same emotions as you, but at the same time is <em>NOT<\/em> you.<\/p>\n<p>Why is that? Because in this <em>Forgiveness Story<\/em> process it&#8217;s important you be able to identify deeply with your Protagonist while still maintaining enough distance to be able to see him or her objectively. Think of it as a person <em>based<\/em> on you but not <em>&#8216;you&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It is this objectivity that is crucial to your letting go of the resentment that makes forgiveness necessary in the first place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first element of our story is &#8216;The Protagonist&#8217;.
