The first element of our story is ‘The Protagonist’. This is the hero, the ‘good guy’ of the story; the person around which ‘The Conflict’ arises, ‘The Climactic Moment’ encompasses and who comes out smelling like a rose at ‘The Resolution’.
In your Forgiveness Story you will create a Protagonist who thinks like you, acts like you, has all the same emotions as you, but at the same time is NOT you.
Why is that? Because in this Forgiveness Story process it’s important you be able to identify deeply with your Protagonist while still maintaining enough distance to be able to see him or her objectively. Think of it as a person based on you but not ‘you’.
It is this objectivity that is crucial to your letting go of the resentment that makes forgiveness necessary in the first place.
